About The Position

The Senior Estimating Engineer will be a key member of the Lifecycle Proposals team, collaborating closely with Sales, Marketing, and Engineering to develop Ovation™ solutions for customers across North America . Based in our Cranberry Township, PA, Charlotte, NC, Tinley Park, IL, or Houston, TX office. In this role, you will help lead our proposal process & application team by supporting our Ovation Advantage program. You will provide expertise in control modernization, control subsystem replacements, and ancillary systems integration – delivering innovative, value-driven solutions tailored to our customers’ evolving needs. Emerson’s six decades of power and water expertise embedded in the Ovation distributed control system (DCS) form a reliable, innovative platform that evolves with rapidly changing technology to improve plant reliability.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems and/or PLCs.
  • Knowledge and experience with application and process automation systems or distributed control systems.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and balance many activities to adjust quickly in a multifaceted environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

  • Process knowledge and control experience in the Power and/or Water Industries.
  • Knowledge in proposal development, cost estimating, or project engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop clear, accurate DCS technical proposals based on customer needs, requirements, and specifications.
  • Work effectively with the Regional/Project Engineering teams to develop complete solutions utilizing Emerson products and services
  • Coordinate and participate in customer meetings to clearly define scope, promote Emerson’s capabilities and expertise, and present offered solutions.
  • Collaborate with other Emerson departments to drive solutions and provide support.
  • Review customer orders, determine if the scope accurately reflects the offers, and prepare for order entry.
  • Provide leadership support to the proposal team, including coaching, knowledge sharing, and process guidance.
