About The Position

The Senior Group Manager is responsible for shaping and driving a global editorial vision that brings the company’s purpose, culture, and innovation to life through compelling storytelling. This role leads the development of an integrated news strategy, manages a calendarized editorial plan, and ensures that enterprise narratives resonate across regions and channels. Acting as both strategist and hands-on editor, the SGM will uncover evergreen and timely stories, conduct interviews, and transform insights into high-quality content that amplifies launches, events, and cultural moments. They will partner closely with regional teams, product and brand leaders, and distribution channels to ensure stories travel effectively worldwide. Ultimately, this role exists to build a modern corporate newsroom that informs, inspires, and connects audiences, employees, customers, and media with the company’s most important messages.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma.
  • Ten or more years of experience in corporate communications, with significant experience in both internal and external communications.
  • Exceptional English writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary communications teams and manage complex projects.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to translate strategy into action.
  • Experience working with senior executives and advising on sensitive or high-impact issues.
  • Advanced presentation and visual communications skills (PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed, and global environment.
  • High integrity, professionalism, and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • International experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead enterprise storytelling strategy with a global editorial vision aligned to brand, innovation roadmap, and automotive leadership priorities (e.g., electrification, sustainability, mobility).
  • Partner with C‑suite and executive leaders to develop thought leadership, keynote narratives, and strategic messaging.
  • Translate complex automotive and technology topics into clear, compelling stories for global audiences.
  • Lead a modern global newsroom, overseeing story sourcing, pitch review, editorial standards, and on‑time delivery.
  • Manage writers, editors, agencies, and vendors to produce high‑quality, scalable content.Identify and develop evergreen stories highlighting innovation, safety, design, and company culture; conduct interviews with engineers, designers, and leaders.
  • Coordinate global story distribution with regional communications teams, ensuring localization, cultural relevance, and consistent message flow across earned, owned, and syndicated channels.
  • Uphold brand voice, tone, quality, and compliance standards across all formats, including articles, social, executive bylines, and multimedia.
  • Define and track KPIs for reach, engagement, and message pull‑through; use analytics to optimize editorial strategy and amplification.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to marketing, PR, product, and regional teams to align storytelling with business objectives and company values.
