About The Position

SMX is looking for comprehensive Human Resources (HR) support to develop an employee handbook that outlines the culture, policies, and procedures for personnel management. Our PEO AVN customer requires an experienced HR individual to collate many different policies, processes, or procedures into a concise, easily understood document for division chiefs, branch chiefs, and employees to reference when needed. The individual will provide an independent review of existing documentation, to include policies and procedures, and provide recommendations for improvement and consolidation into an employee handbook. This is a part-time position providing hybrid support to our client in Huntsville, AL. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Work with the PMO to collect all Government Furnished Information (GFI), including existing policies, internal documents, and relevant Army regulations. Conduct initial intake sessions with division and branch chiefs to understand the current state and identify immediate pain points. Conduct a detailed analysis to identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and gaps in the current documentation. Benchmark existing processes against industry best practices and Army-wide standards to pinpoint specific opportunities for improvement and consolidation. Develop a set of clear, actionable recommendations. These will focus on streamlining processes, clarifying policies, and ensuring full compliance. These recommendations will form the architectural blueprint for the new employee handbook. Synthesize all approved recommendations and consolidated policies into a draft employee handbook. Develop, implement, and test processes for Army and contractor travel, training management, awards, hiring actions, onboarding, out processing, and other HR functions. Provide an innovative non-traditional perspective on approaches to improving FLRAA HR management Support preparation of senior leader briefings Meet weekly with FLRAA Program Planning and Control (PP&C) leadership to support preparation for senior leader engagements and HR planning.

Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain Secret
  • Active secret preferred
  • Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of relevant experience
  • HRSD subject matter expertise
  • DTS expertise
  • ATAAPS familiarity
  • Experience with Sr. Leader engagement

Nice To Haves

  • A degree in Human Resources is preferred
  • Experience in PEO Aviation
