About The Position

We are seeking a Senior ITS Engineering Technician to join our ITS Practice in Tallahassee, FL. This role will be responsible for various Transportation System Management and Operations (TSM&O) tasks, including the development and fabrication of mobile simulation systems for personnel training. Your role Perform assignments of a varied nature, including work on TSM&O projects in some of the following areas: Advanced Air Mobility, Emergency Response, Traffic Control Devices, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and Communications Networks. Performs a wide variety of assignments related to traffic engineering and operations, applying principles of discipline(s) supported. Performs systems analysis and implementation consulting for external solution implementations. Works closely with clients, colleagues, prime and sub-contractors, and outside vendors to effectively plan and execute project tasks. Develops preliminary concepts and/or specifications. Reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals. Provides technical support and coordination with the on-site team to solve technical and operational problems. Selects, interprets, adapts and applies guidelines, precedents and technical principles related to field of specialty, to non-routine and complex problems. Researches and interprets information, data, and client needs. Directly supports tasks including field and office work; monitors and updates task schedules and budgets. May perform basic design activities for supervisor's approval and/or make required measures and computations to support design and construction activities. May develop conceptual design alternatives as required by supervisor or alter final drawings as requested. Assists technical professionals in preparing specifications, writing technical reports, calculating estimated project costs and man-hours, coordinating presentations to clients and performing other professional-level tasks. Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) plus ten years related experience OR an Associates Degree in a related technical field plus eight years related experience is required.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills plus thorough understanding of discipline supported.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering a variety of training devices and simulation systems for various use cases.
