About The Position

The American Nurses Enterprise (ANE) is seeking to hire a Senior Magnet Program Analyst. The Senior Magnet Program Analyst provides independent, content expertise and analysis for the Magnet Recognition Program® for Magnet and applicant organizations, commissioners, appraisers, Magnet Program, general public and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) office staff. This position personifies the Magnet Recognition Program by teaching, coaching, and supporting Magnet applicants in their progressive journey to Magnet excellence. The visibility of this position in the nursing community requires the incumbent to be an experienced leader, comfortable with independent decision-making, project management, and coordination with all aspects of the program. The incumbent should be passionate about the profession of nursing, valuing, and pursuing professional contacts to strengthen and expand the Magnet vision within their various areas of expertise. Requirements

  • RN required, master's degree or higher in. If master's is not in nursing, then a baccalaureate must be in nursing.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive leadership experience involving project management, progressive leadership in a health-related organization or hospital. Skillful communicator.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a high performing team.
  • Ability to interact with nursing leaders; domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to collaborate with nurse leaders across the American Nurses Enterprise and Commission to impact the profession of nursing.
  • Strong time management, team building, and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to communicate with executive level stakeholders, utilizing appropriate independent decision making.
  • Work independently, multi-task under pressure, prioritize effectively, take initiative and be innovative.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Articulate verbal communication and poise in presenting complex topics to prestigious leadership groups, at national conferences and other formats using many modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a primary resource and expert with comprehensive knowledge of the Program, overseeing the management, coordination, communication, assistance, guidance, leadership, and support for organizations, domestic and international, throughout all phases of the application process.
  • This position necessitates a high degree of specialized knowledge, critical thinking, and strategic leadership within the field, demanding a sophisticated understanding of complex issues and the ability to navigate and influence multifaceted organizational dynamics.
  • Coordinates the multifaceted appraisal process, overseeing and managing the client's application from initial application validation through all phase of the application process. Provides independent analysis, expert guidance, and advanced problem solving to organizations.
  • Interfaces with program appraisers, coordinating and managing the appraisal process while ensuring the integrity and quality of all appraisal documentation presented to the Commission, including the review of both qualitative and quantitative data submitted by organizations. This position demands a high level of expertise in providing timely guidance and education to appraisers, completing thorough reviews of appraiser reports, and performing extensive editing and writing tasks. Critical analysis is essential to determine when consultation with other experts, such as the Office of General Counsel or Research and Informatics, is necessary.
  • Collaborate with fellow Senior Program Analysts, Assistant Director(s), and the Education and Program Outreach Manager to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the learning needs of applicant organizations, including both initial and redesignating applicants, as well as organizations within the Pre-Intent Program and those expressing general interest in the program. Based on the identified needs, design and implement a range of instructional strategies, utilizing various delivery methods such as webinars, conference calls, email communications, website resources, onsite and virtual program guidance, annual Program Director meetings, and conference concurrent sessions. Additionally, the role entails representing the Program and the ANCC at official functions, including out-of-town and overnight events, and may include opportunities for public speaking or online presentations.
  • Initiates, maintains, and leads multiple initiatives aimed at enhancing the program. This includes providing expert assessments and recommendations for the ongoing development and revision of manuals, publications, established programs, services, processes, policies, and procedures, as well as involvement in special projects and strategic planning.
  • The incumbent will collaborate with members of the Commission and actively participate in high-level decision-making processes that impact the program.

  • Proactively evaluates operational requirements and needs to drive continuous improvement is a key responsibility, with a focus on implementing process and technology enhancements. The role also requires a strong commitment to adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards within the context of ANCC's scope of work and its Quality Management System.
  • Collaboration with Program Specialists and other staff within the Program Office is essential to ensure alignment with priorities and the efficient management of the application process.
