THE ROLE: Join AMD’s Datacenter GPU Product Application Engineering team to lead a high-performing group of engineers supporting our Data Center GPU OEM & ODM Partners. In this customer-centric role, you will collaborate with external OEM/ODM partners to bring next-generation server platforms to market powered by AMD’s Instinct™ Accelerators—and ensure their successful deployment in customer data centers. THE PERSON: You are a customer‑centric engineering leader with deep expertise in data center GPUs and AI server platforms, experienced in guiding teams that work directly with OEM and ODM partners. You bring a strong balance of technical depth and people leadership, enabling successful validation, manufacturing, and deployment of AMD Instinct™ Accelerators in next‑generation server platforms. You thrive in fast‑paced, cross‑functional environments, serving as a trusted technical advisor to customers while driving internal alignment across engineering, product, and operations teams. With a proven ability to manage escalations, mentor engineers, and represent your team at a strategic level, you ensure high‑quality execution from factory bring‑up through customer data center deployment.

  • Proven experience of technical customer-facing roles such as Application Engineering, Technical Account Management, or Solutions Architecture.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams in data center or GPU-focused environments.
  • Deep understanding of AMD GPU architecture, ROCm software stack, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Proven experience supporting large-scale deployments in Cloud or HPC settings.
  • Familiarity with customer engagement workflows including onboarding, triage, and escalation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across engineering, product, and executive teams.
  • Experience in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring technical talent.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of Application Engineers engaged in validating AMD GPU products within AI server platforms, supporting OEM/ODM factory operations, and enabling customer deployments.
  • Issue Resolution: Oversee the triage, debugging, and resolution of customer issues, ensuring timely coordination with internal engineering and product teams.
  • Escalation Management: Serve as the primary escalation point for complex customer engineering challenges, driving resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Guidance: Advise OEM partners on AMD tools, validation methodologies, and interpretation of test results.
  • Manufacturing Enablement: Collaborate with OEM factory teams to develop manufacturing scripts and test programs that ensure reliability at scale.
  • Customer Communication: Contribute to the creation and review of technical presentations, training materials, and other customer-facing documentation.
  • Resource & Onboarding Management: Oversee hardware resource allocation and lead onboarding and enablement for new hires and contractors.
  • Strategic Representation: Represent the team in strategic planning forums and cross-functional initiatives.
