About The Position

ALO's Senior Manager of International Retail Marketing will support the planning and execution of ALO’s global retail expansion, owning end-to-end project management of international store openings from concept through launch. Serving as the operational backbone behind each opening, you will translate creative vision and Marketing strategy into high-impact store launches that drive awareness, affinity, and new country growth. You will build scalable processes to support our rapid expansion and partner cross-functionally with teams across the business to deliver seamless, on-brand experiences. This role will manage budgets, all aspects of production, timelines, time zones, vendors, and complex logistics with local nuance—ensuring every international retail opening is better than the last.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Strong organizational abilities with impeccable attention to detail, with ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Self-starter with experience facilitating programming from ideation through execution that thrives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment
  • Creative thinker and problem solver — always looking beyond available options with a finger on the pulse of new strategy and concepts
  • A systems-driven thinker that can turn ambiguity into clear plans
  • Excellent communicator, with skills and ability to cross functionally collaborate with internal teams and external partners
  • Comfortable consistently working across multiple time zones and navigating cultural nuances
  • Willingness to travel frequently to support event activations + new store openings
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, Canva/Pitch, Asana, budget management, and project management tools

Responsibilities

  • International Opening Planning + Project Management
  • Own the detailed project plans for international new store openings on the Retail Marketing side from concept creation to execution
  • Maintain timelines, run of shows, flag risks, and ensure all cross functional teams (Visual Merchandising, the New Store Opening team, Community, PR, Influencer + Talent, Social, Legal, Digital, etc.) are aligned and tracking towards key milestones
  • Support every aspect of event production from start to finish, from coordinating with events agencies, vendors, contractors, shipping partners, construction teams, etc.
  • Manage procurement of supplies, signage, and all event assets required for success
  • Work hand in hand with in-house creative, CRM, and planning teams daily
  • Frequently work outside of the PST time zone to complete projects – being willing to work across KST, CST, CET, GMT, etc. to communicate in real time with event partners across the globe
  • Budget, Vendor + Process Management
  • Own budget tracking for each international opening, maintaining meticulous records, flagging risks, and supporting reconciliation
  • Coordinate with Finance for POs, accruals, tracking spend by month, and vendor onboarding
  • Build + refine the new store opening template consistently as openings increase
  • Manage myriad vendor payments with various internal AP teams, ensuring invoices are paid quickly, in the correct currencies, tracked appropriately, and coded to the right place
  • Manage international shipping daily, ensuring key event materials cross borders successfully, liaising with shipping partners, ALO owned warehouse teams, couriers, Planning + Allocation teams, customs, etc.
  • Onsite Execution
  • Travel internationally as needed to spearhead new store openings on the ground, ensuring seamless execution, real time problem solving, support from start to finish, and a positive brand presence to ensure camaraderie and success
  • Manage opening logistics directly – from load-in, production builds, VIP events, offsite community programming, private shop nights, private tours, grand opening weekends, and load-out
  • Ensure every opening meets Alo’s global standard of excellence and is on brand
  • Post-Opening Support
  • Help maintain scalable tools, templates, and processes to support future rapid international expansion that incorporate learnings from recent openings
  • Responsible for capturing KPIs after every new store opening, logging into a recap tracker, including event attendance, store performance, social recaps, new customer acquisition, etc.
  • Lead postmortem recaps and collect learnings across all cross functional partners post openings
  • NSO Community Programming
  • Research community partners and studios in new, target international markets where Alo isn’t widely recognized and brand engagement is low to activate brand affinity through authentic community engagement during new store openings
  • Consistently build community programming around new store openings that drive traffic in-store and facilitate new customer acquisition
  • Have finger on the pulse of key cultural moments in new cities that Alo is entering to strategically drive traffic in-store through organic community programming
  • Responsible for capturing KPIs after every initiative and logging into recap tracker, including event attendance, bounce back redemption rate, and new customer acquisition
