About The Position

Under direction of the Senior Managing Director, Marketing & Operations, this full-time position is deeply involved with most, if not all, aspects of US Equestrian marketing and supports projects and events across the department. Key responsibilities include management and execution of both USEF and sponsor branding/activations at National Championship events as well as other key promotional events. This includes recommending deliverables in agreements, gathering specs and due dates for activating, coordinating all logistics involved, support on-site when needed and taking event learnings to provide recommendations on how to improve.  Events pertaining to USEF and sponsorship promotional activities include, but are not limited to, the Kentucky Three Day Event, USEF Junior Hunter Finals, North American Youth Championships, the USEF Pony Finals, the USEF Annual Meeting and all other USEF National Championships and special events. This role also manages the branding and event deliverables for the US Equestrian Open Series, coordinating with organizers to ensure event exposure is maximized. Working alongside the Managing Director, Marketing & Operations, this role is responsible for helping lead planning, logistics and execution of the US Equestrian Open Finals.  The Senior Marketing Manager, Events will work directly with the USEF Sponsorship team to oversee and lead the sponsor Value in Kind product requests, ordering and fulfillment. This role will work closely with the Sponsorship team as new sponsor packages are created to identify opportunities and lead coordinating event deliverables. The Senior Marketing Manager, Events must effectively communicate both within the Marketing department and USEF as a whole, as well as with individuals outside of the organization, and must be timely in responding to all. Specific responsibilities include sponsor and USEF branding management, prize list and program ad coordination, cross department promotion coordination and communication, VIK tracking, and ensuring that all project management databases (including Trello) are up-to-date.  This position will also support USEF marketing campaigns, promotional activities and material development as directed. This includes supporting the USEF Strategic Plan goal of reaching 1 million members & fans.  This position requires excellent organizational, attention to details, time management, and verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and develops direct report, providing strategic leadership on their duties to best serve USEF.
  • Lead and manage marketing projects working closely with others as needed but also able to work independently.
  • Oversee and manage on-site branding for USEF, and sponsors at events.
  • Collecting digital deliverables, signage, and tangible assets before events.
  • Plan and implement the details of specific on-site activations.
  • Coordinate with Event Organizers to plan ahead of time for activations and provide the necessary materials for success.
  • Operate on-site activations for USEF, and sponsors when they’re unable to attend.
  • Provide Signage Plans to venues to optimize visibility.
  • Oversee and manage the event deliverables for the US Equestrian Open Series qualifier events
  • Assist with leading the planning, logistics, and execution of the US Equestrian Open Finals
  • Coordinates the contract process for USEF Marketing deliverables in hopes of updating deliverables to fit USEF’s needs at any given time.
  • Exceptional service to the sponsors of USEF; providing resources, answers, support, and recommendations for success.
  • Work alongside supervisor in planning and development of LA28 event activation plan. Help develop and execute marketing efforts and tracking of responsibilities and deliverables.
  • Continuously evaluates activation strategies to ensure company goals and objectives are being met.
  • Evaluate all events, upon completion, for key outcomes and ways to improve.
  • Ability to understand and articulate a partners’ brand so we can build out a strategy that promotes customer engagement, or retention of the partnership.
  • Coordinate with event planner for USEF’s Annual Meeting
  • Conceptualize, implement and order signage for branding at events.
  • Provides service to all areas of the Marketing department. This includes frequent reminders, artwork/logo collection, and responding in a timely manner to any management or sponsor inquiries.
  • Maintains historical databases and updates online management system (Trello).
  • Works with USEF departments to correctly represent all marketing vehicles, i.e. Equestrian magazine, USEF.org, USEFNetwork.com, etc.
  • Coordinates with Managing Director of Marketing & Events on the planning related to USEF Annual Meeting.
  • Activating on sponsorships at Annual Meeting
  • Working closely with event planner on the management of registrations, numbers, etc.
  • Facilitate the design progress to come up with concepts for the USEF Annual Meeting, and all its parts.
  • Orders items in accordance with budget and handles delivery of such items.
  • Ability to collaborate across USEF to serve the needs of all events being produced from the organization.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to come up with new ways to draw in Fan Members, and activate on new concepts to draw new fans to equine sport.
  • Participation in event-related meetings.
  • Marketing and Sponsorship assistance and assignments as needed.
  • Special projects as assigned by supervisor.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and working weekends, after hours as needed
