Senior Mobile Engineer/Lead - React Native (High-Performance Trading App)
About The Position
We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to lead the evolution of a high-performance React Native trading application within a fast-scaling DeFi environment. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and design, focused on delivering premium, real-time mobile experiences that feel indistinguishable from fully native apps. You will own the technical direction of the mobile platform, ensuring fluid animations, seamless gestures, and resilient real-time data handling. The position requires deep expertise in performance optimization and advanced React Native tooling. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers to architect bandwidth-efficient APIs and real-time data layers. This is a high-impact opportunity for an engineer passionate about crafting refined, high-speed consumer trading experiences.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience shipping production React Native applications
- Strong TypeScript expertise
- Deep experience with React Native Reanimated and React Native Gesture Handler
- Experience with low-level rendering tools such as Shopify React Native Skia
- Proven performance optimization experience (real-time views, animated lists)
- Strong understanding of iOS and Android layout, motion, and interaction patterns
- Experience profiling and debugging performance using Flipper, Xcode Instruments, or Android Studio
- Product ownership mindset with full lifecycle feature delivery
Nice To Haves
- Native mobile development experience (Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin)
- Background building highly interactive consumer apps (trading, gaming, creative tools)
- Open-source contributions within the React Native ecosystem
- Experience working in DeFi or financial trading environments
Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for the mobile platform
- Build high-performance React Native interfaces for trading, analytics, and social features
- Implement advanced animations and gesture systems using Reanimated and Gesture Handler
- Architect resilient real-time data layers using TypeScript and WebSockets
- Optimize performance to consistently maintain 60 FPS across dynamic views
- Bridge native modules to unlock advanced iOS and Android capabilities
- Partner with backend teams to design efficient APIs and data flows
- Identify and resolve UI jank, visual inconsistencies, and performance bottlenecks
- Own features end-to-end from prototype through production release
