About The Position

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking Senior Windows System Administrator support a major national laboratory. Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and repair physical and virtual server systems. Resolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications. Apply operating system or application patches, install or replace hardware, and implement configuration changes to improve or restore system performance. Perform system capacity analysis and planning. Assist users in accessing and using business systems. Develop instructions and procedures for system maintenance, create scripts to automate monitoring and repair tasks, and conduct quality assurance checks. Collaborate with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems. Contribute to process development and system improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • BS in a relevant discipline and 2 years in IT related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties. In lieu of degree, 8 years of job-related experience is required.
  • Ability to obtain & maintain a U.S. Dept. of Energy Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Complete knowledge of networking principles for conjuring and maintaining the organization of the network
  • Proper understanding all types of hardware including routers, switches, wires, and other essential equipment.
  • Knowledge of the common operating systems such as Linux, MS OS
  • Knowledge of IP addressing and some common networking protocols like IPv4 and IPv6.
  • Experience performing any network performance issues such as system crash.
  • Proactive Self‑Starter: Demonstrates the ability to independently initiate tasks, manage priorities, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • Advanced Problem‑Solving Skills: Applies strong analytical reasoning to identify root causes, evaluate complex situations, and develop effective, innovative solutions.
