About The Position

Provide applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies, design, installation, startup, maintenance, repair and training. Self-management of assigned projects and job cost accountability to perform work within budgeted cost estimates. Perform Short-Circuit, LV/MV Protective Device Coordination, and Arc Flash studies. Perform field data collection to gather information on customer electrical distribution equipment needed to complete a variety of power system studies. Interpret specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers. Provide technical solutions to customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades, testing of equipment, solutions relating to increase safety, reliability, or efficiency. Run small to medium sized projects unassisted. Mentor or lead other engineers on small to medium sized projects. Provide customer training on arc flash and electrical safety. Position is fixed location based in Tukwila office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed. 20% domestic travel for customer site visits. 40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a directly related field plus three (3) years of experience in the electric power industry.
  • Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Short-Circuit and Coordination
  • Power Tools Electrical Engineering Software and SKM Systems Analysis software
  • Reading and interpreting electrical one-line and three-line diagrams
  • Identifying all electrical components within the one-line and three-line diagrams
  • Electrical distribution systems and all components within those systems
  • Employing safe work practices when working on electrical distribution systems and components in the field
