Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science/Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or related field. May substitute 8+ years of proven experience in the product compliance field.
  • Relevant experience working with US, EU and Asia/Pacific regulatory directives and initiatives. Examples include, but are not limited to, RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, chemical registrations, and PFAS.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, advanced Excel) and Environmental Data Management systems. Experience using ECHA SCIP database and Oracle ERP systems a plus. Touch typist.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with a passion for problem solving.
  • Able to balance many tasks and conflicting priorities. Able to negotiate conflict.
  • Astute organizational skills with drive to meet deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Ability to read lengthy regulations and interpret the business and/or product impact.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as proven experience working one-on-one with suppliers, customers, business units, engineering, and senior management (internally and externally).
  • Self-motivated and confident. Comfortable to work independently, as well as within highly matrixed, cross-functional teams.
  • This role may require up to 10% travel. Candidates should be comfortable with occasional travel as needed to support business objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a global, multi-site manufacturing company.
  • Experience working in medical device or other regulated industry.
  • Direct experience with generating regulatory body submissions/registrations for compliance to regulations, including, but not limited to, Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS), Registration Evaluation Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) and California’s Proposition 65.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to CPC customer inquiries regarding Product compliance.
  • Research compliance and raw material formulation information from CPC’s raw material and component suppliers to verify compliance with regulations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to maintain updated documentation to demonstrate compliance to regulations.
  • In collaboration with IT, engineering, and any other necessary departments, including third parties, develop and optimize process/system for tracking and maintaining compliance data/declarations.
  • Manage the overall relationship with third party service providers.
  • Conduct market surveillance of regulatory/product compliance requirements.
  • With this information, analyze the potential impact of current and emerging global compliance regulations and standards on CPC products.
  • Proactively identify new regulations or regulation changes that affect or could affect product compliance.
  • Effectively communicate compliance requirements, expectations and changes to the organization, as relevant to CPC products.
  • Develop documents to define compliance with requirements (such as EU RoHS) which could be presented to customers or posted on the CPC website.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, including third party providers, to ensure timely reporting.
  • Work with engineering to update material specifications, drawings, and other related changes as necessary to keep component parts up-to-date as related to compliance requirements.
  • Comply with all CPC quality policies, while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the processes of ISO and other certifications deemed necessary by the business.
  • Demonstrate support of CPC core values.
  • Comply with all company policies and safety regulations.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
