About The Position

Addition Therapeutics is currently seeking an SRA II / Scientist, Nanoparticle (LNP) Process Development. The ideal candidate will join the Addition Therapeutics Non-Viral Delivery Team, contributing to process development, scale-up, and manufacturing of the company’s novel gene-supplement technology. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in an R&D lab environment with initial LNP process development and scale-up experience. This position is based in South San Francisco.

Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science & Engineering, or related field with 1-3 years of relevant industry experience
• (BSc and MSc with at least 3 years of industry experience will also be considered)
• Expertise with (lipid) nanoparticle mixing techniques and formulation screening
• Initial experience with downstream process development, particularly Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), for buffer exchange and concentration
• Expertise in using Design of Experiment (DOE) and relevant statistical software (JMP) for formulation discovery and optimization

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and execute early process development activities for LNP scale-up
• Set up and improve LNP mixing (e.g., microfluidic mixing and T-mixing) and downstream processing techniques, such as tangential flow filtration (TFF)
• Develop Design of Experiment (DOE) principles for formulation screening activities
• Routinely characterize LNP physico-chemical properties using typical analytical techniques (e.g. DLS, zeta-potential, RiboGreen, TNS pKa)
• Collaborate with scientists across the organization to advance company objectives
• Critically review and analyze data; communicate results and conclusions; present and defend ideas in cross-functional meetings
