About The Position

The Translational Biomarker Research in Aging and Neuroscience (T-BRAIN) Program is seeking an organized and motivated life sciences professional to join our team. The T-BRAIN is a new, vibrant research program investigating and developing biomarkers for aging-related neuropsychiatric disorders. Successful candidates will work independently or as a member of a project team to perform complex research studies, experiments and assays. This position will serve as a critical team member responsible for implementing and sustaining research projects and general wet lab activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Laboratory Setting (1 Year)

  • Experience with aseptic technique, cell culture, basic molecular biology applications, ELISA, Flow Cytometry and/or other cell sorting applications.

Responsibilities

  • Execute technical procedures to support biomarker analyses.
  • Work with Lab management to develop new, and improve existing, research protocols to support project/program objectives.
  • Ensure laboratory activities and research protocols comply with all laboratory Quality Management Systems and laboratory safety objectives and procedures.
  • Ensure lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
  • Assist in the training of laboratory staff and/or Project Team personnel on laboratory procedures to ensure compliance with all laboratory standards.
  • Participate in rotating off-hours “on-call” response to emergency alarms or occasional support.
  • Additional administrative tasks include ordering research supplies, managing research material inventory, and ensuring compliance with WashU regulations.
