About The Position

Elliott Company’s Houston, TX, office seeks a Senior Sales Engineer to support, train, and guide the in- Country Sales Representatives IN MEXICO, ARGENTINA, CHILE, BOLIVIA, URUGUAY while having direct involvement in negotiations of final technical requirements and commercial terms applicable to a potential order. Specific job duties include: (i) identifying, planning, directing, organizing AFTERMARKET opportunities ON TURBOMACHINERY (ii) analyzing general and competitive business and economic trends within assigned accounts and reporting to the Regional MANAGER, recommending best course of action; (iii) making recommendations of new market opportunities and/or Representation opportunities; (iv) permanently evaluating the performance of the Sales Representatives Network; (v) regularly planning and organizing customer meetings across assigned countries (vi) providing forecasting data on all products within the assigned countries as required; and (vii) maintaining CRM accurate and current. This is a hybrid office/work-from-home position within the United States, but the employee must live within commuting distance of the office in Houston, TX. Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineering or a directly related field plus five (5) years of experience in a related position. Experience must include five (5) years with: (i) turbomachinery and rotating equipment, including metallurgy, gas properties, and fluid dynamics; (ii) marketing, application and/or sales experience related to rotating machinery at users and/or engineering contractor levels; (iii) thermodynamic and aerodynamic concepts as related to the performance of turbomachinery; (iv) application of both steam turbines and compressors as well as their related auxiliaries (i.e. motors, gears, lube systems); (v) balancing the inter- relationship between price, performance, delivery, and reliability when selecting/designing a unit; (vi) preparing proposals, conducting meetings, answering sales/customer technical questions and writing papers/articles/procedures; (vii) balancing internal cost structure, market value, and margin goals when pricing a project; (viii) the application of bearings, seals, materials, thermal and dynamic stress and strain, and rotor dynamics; (ix) Oracle CRM, IBM networks, Ironclad CLM, application programs, Word, Excel, and Lotus Notes; and (x) analyzing and negotiating contract terms and conditions. Must be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally to various employers, clients, and other locations up to 40% of the time. Requirements
