Our team, Sam’s Tech eCommerce is responsible for enabling next generation applications and platforms for our associates in clubs to empower them, drive efficiency and simplify day-to-day operations. We are investing in modernizing our systems and services to transform club operations with latest technology. We are looking for talented individuals who can use their engineering and problem solving skills to help our teams build solutions at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer for Sam’s Tech eCommerce team, you will spend your days translating requirements into solutions, writing code, collaborating with cross functional teams, and providing us with the insights necessary to think beyond the status quo. You’ll operate as a trusted advisor as it relates to efficiencies and best practices. As a member of our team, you’ll be able to say that you work for the world’s largest retailer and contribute to the development to best-in-class methodologies that impacted perception and drastically changed business as we know it. What you’ll do: Design & develop highly scalable services and solve complex software systems problems by leveraging state-of-the-art technology and enhancing the middleware to support experience teams. Work closely with product and design teams to optimize the experience for all platforms. Understand complex architecture and add any enhancements to the existing solutions. Write unit tests and improve code coverage for unit tests. Stay up to date with the latest GenAI trends and technologies and contribute to the development of innovative solutions that improve the member experience Participate in managing code & configurations for multiple environments, release management process, creating and maintaining environment configuration and controls, code integrity and work closely with platform team. Analyzing business requirements, develop code, support QA and similar steps of the scrum process, work in an agile development environment with a quick turnaround time and iterative builds. Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high level design Troubleshoots business, member facing and production issues Ensures inclusion of business vision and industry trends to enable results that drive business Problem solving and troubleshooting design and development issues and provide appropriate solutions Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams. Provide guidance and mentorship to the junior engineers.
