About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant, will be responsible for recording financial transactions, analyzing financial information, and preparing reports with a focus on all accounting transactions related to high value inventory and fixed assets. In this role the senior staff accounting will take on traditional accounting duties as well as perform financial modeling.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' experience in accounting required; exposure to manufacturing or production environment preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Excel is required
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a timely and independent manner
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete projects from problem identification to solution implementation
  • Good communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment
  • All candidates must pass an extensive background check, Credit, Criminal and Drug Screen

Responsibilities

  • Prepare reconciliations of sales, product purchases, and accruals for precious metal
  • Create financial models to investigate discrepancies and strengthen internal controls
  • Monitor reserves and controls over high-value items
  • Record wire transfers into General Ledger
  • Maintain perpetual inventory ledger
  • Update reports and post transactions for operating bank accounts
  • Monitor all leased metal balances & lease reporting and compliance
  • Reviews metal purchase orders for accuracy and calculates metal karat equivalents
  • Review daily transactions and post non-operating payments
  • Coordinate and prepare all month-end closing journal entries
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure subledger-to-general ledger reconciliations
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Prepare monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Tracks & Accounts for all outside refiner's settlements & charges including related monthly journal entries
  • Responsible for Monthly Metal Bank Compliance Report
  • Working with coworkers on the production floor and utilizes problem solving during monthly inventory count
  • Reconciles Monthly Physical Inventory to General Ledger
  • Maintain subsidiary ledger for two affiliates
  • Assist with audit requests and "Prepared by Client" schedules
  • Special Projects as assigned
  • Assists with responsible metal documentation and annual audit
  • Provide necessary audit schedules relating to inventory
  • Responsible for reporting as required by government agencies
  • Reconciles subsidiary ledger and file sales tax
  • Assists with the processing of customer balance refunds and payments for precious metal
  • Assists with AP/AR functions and cross trains with AR/AP clerks
