About The Position

In this role, you will serve as a technical authority supporting the full lifecycle of advanced machinery control systems for mission-critical naval platforms. You will operate across both shipboard and land-based engineering environments, contributing directly to system design, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will help shape next-generation control solutions while ensuring the reliability and performance of existing systems. Your expertise will support complex hardware and software integrations in highly regulated, high-stakes environments. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence system architecture, testing methodologies, and operational excellence. You will play a central role in maintaining and advancing sophisticated industrial control systems that support national defense objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years of relevant professional experience, or Master’s degree in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a computer science concentration and 10+ years of experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and supervisory control architectures
  • Proven expertise in hardware design, firmware development, and software engineering
  • Advanced skills in interpreting electrical schematics and system architecture diagrams
  • Strong troubleshooting capabilities across control systems, networks, and virtualized environments
  • Experience developing and executing formal test procedures and validation protocols
  • Excellent technical documentation and communication skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance, U.S. citizenship, and ability to obtain or hold a valid U.S. passport

Responsibilities

  • Provide end-to-end lifecycle engineering support for supervisory machinery control systems in both shipboard and land-based environments
  • Contribute expert technical input to the design and evolution of next-generation control systems
  • Develop, refine, and validate system and software requirements for advanced machinery control solutions
  • Execute complex troubleshooting, diagnostics, and performance optimization of PLC-based control systems
  • Review and validate technical documentation, engineering drawings, and system specifications
  • Design and implement comprehensive test procedures aligned with operational and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver technical guidance and mentorship across engineering teams to resolve complex system integration challenges
