About The Position

The Senior Tax Analyst is a key member of the Finance organization with responsibility for a broad range of direct and indirect tax matters, including tax compliance, tax accounting, audits, and transfer pricing. The Senior Tax Analyst also provides technical guidance, contributes to the development of junior tax staff, and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders, external advisors and auditors, and global tax peers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. federal/state income tax concepts.
  • Solid understanding of indirect tax concepts, including U.S. sales/use tax and Canadian GST/HST.
  • Strong accounting fundamentals and analytical skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with competing priorities.
  • Experience working with auditors and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or MST.
  • Strong experience with major ERP systems
  • Experience with fixed asset ledger reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Accounting & Reporting (Income Tax)
  • Prepare quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740 – Income Tax.
  • Calculate and document reserves for uncertain tax positions.
  • Perform month-end reconciliations of tax-related general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare book-to-tax adjustments (e.g., depreciation, compensation adjustments, Sec. 163(j), UNICAP, FDII, Sec. 174).
  • Calculate and reconcile state apportionment.
  • Prepare annual provision-to-return adjustments.
  • Determine estimated tax payment and extension requirements and perform first-level reviews.
  • Support both internal and external auditors on income tax matters.
  • Income Tax Compliance (Federal, State & Local)
  • Manage U.S. federal, state, and local tax filings, including coordination with co-sourced providers.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all required tax returns.
  • Resolve all tax notices and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory changes that may impact tax positions or reporting.
  • Indirect Tax Management
  • Manage U.S. and Canadian indirect tax compliance, including sales/use tax, property tax, franchise tax, superfund tax, and U.S. federal excise taxes (preferred).
  • Manage indirect tax audits and respond to auditor requests.
  • Maintain accurate indirect tax records and ensure compliance with jurisdictional requirements.
  • Transfer Pricing & Cross-Border Support
  • Monitor transfer pricing policies and ensure timely preparation and maintenance of required documentation.
  • Support cross-border intercompany transactions and liaise with foreign related parties on global tax matters.
  • Assist with implementing transfer pricing adjustments and related accounting entries.
  • Audit & Compliance
  • Support audits for both direct and indirect taxes, ensuring timely responses and supporting documentation.
  • Engage effectively with external tax advisors and auditors.
  • Maintain SOX-compliant tax processes, controls, and documentation.
