This new platform will serve as the foundation for all clinical data and operations across every line of business. By creating a robust and innovative solution, this leader will enable enhanced care management, utilization management, and data-driven decision-making—ultimately working to improve healthcare outcomes for millions of Americans. Role & responsibilities The Senior UX Researcher on this transformative project is responsible for building and leading a team of colaborativa, you'll own your research work end to end. You won't wait to be handed a study plan — you'll push back on vague briefs, select the right methods for the question at hand, and synthesize findings in ways that actually change how the team thinks. You'll work closely with designers and product managers inside long-term client engagements, and you'll contribute to the broader research practice by sharing what you learn and helping others work with users more effectively.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional UX research experience, with demonstrated ability to lead studies independently from planning through synthesis
  • Proficiency across qualitative methods; working knowledge of quantitative and mixed-methods approaches
  • Background in embedded, collaborative product team environments (in-house or agency)
  • Strong synthesis skills — able to move from raw data to insight without losing nuance
  • Clear, compelling communicator who can translate research findings for PM, engineering, and executive audiences
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguous briefs — brings structure and proposes sharper research questions
  • Familiar with research operations: recruitment, consent, moderation, and repository management
  • Proficient in common research and collaboration tools (e.g., UserZoom, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail, Figma, Miro)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in healthcare, regulated industries, or other complex enterprise domains preferred; direct experience with clinical workflows, payer systems, or care delivery is a meaningful plus
  • Experience conducting research with users navigating high-stakes, high-complexity systems — whether in healthcare, financial services, government services, or similar

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute user research studies independently — selecting appropriate methods for the question, the timeline, and the constraints of each project
  • Lead qualitative methods including in-depth interviews, contextual inquiry, observational studies, diary studies, and moderated usability testing
  • Contribute to quantitative and mixed-methods work including surveys, unmoderated testing, and integration of behavioral analytics
  • Manage the operational realities of running research: participant recruitment and screening, consent processes, scheduling, note-taking protocols, and data management
  • Synthesize findings from individual studies into clear, actionable insights — not just summaries, but conclusions the team can act on
  • Create research deliverables (personas, journey maps, research reports, insight repositories) that communicate findings effectively to non-researcher audiences
  • Present findings to product and engineering partners and, when appropriate, to client leadership — translating user behavior into product and business implications
  • Contribute to the team's shared research repository so past findings are accessible and reusable across projects
  • Partner closely with designers to connect research insights to design direction — staying engaged through how findings get applied, not just handing off a report
  • Collaborate with product managers to ensure research is integrated into roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Advocate for users in cross-functional discussions — representing what users actually need, especially when that's in tension with what stakeholders assume
  • Push back on briefs that haven't been sufficiently defined, and propose better research questions alongside the pushback
  • Stay current with research methods, tools, and AI-assisted approaches; share relevant learnings with the team
  • Support junior researchers and designers in how to work with users more effectively
  • Contribute to the evolution of team research practices, templates, and norms

Benefits

  • medical, dental & vision coverage
  • health spending accounts
  • voluntary benefits
  • leave of absence policies
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • 401(k) program with employer contribution
  • Flexible work schedules and time-off policy
  • company equipment for all new full-time US-based remote employees
