About The Position

We’re hiring a Service & Repair Manager to lead our Lakeland shop - someone who knows pumps, understands how repairs actually get done, and isn’t afraid to jump in and get their hands dirty when needed. This is a player-coach role. You’ll be leading the team, setting the pace in the shop, and making sure work is done right - but you’ll also be working alongside your technicians at times, helping troubleshoot, reviewing tear-downs, and stepping in on more complex rebuilds when it matters. Our service offerings include system analysis and design, applications engineering, custom fabrication of equipment packages, automation and controls, equipment repair, and thermal hard coatings. tencarva.com The Role This position leads the shop-based service business, including the repair and rebuild of industrial & municipal pumps and a wide range of rotating equipment, along with oversight of our in-house manual machining capabilities. You’ll be responsible for running the day-to-day shop operation - making sure jobs are scoped correctly, repairs are done to OEM standards, schedules are realistic, and the team has what they need to get the work done right. This role works closely with our Repair Coordinators (RC), Repair Engineers (RE), and Sales Support (SSS) team, who handle much of the quoting, documentation, and administrative side of the business. Your focus is on team support, coaching/development, repair execution, quality, and keeping the operation running smoothly and safely.

Requirements

  • Strong hands-on experience repairing and rebuilding industrial pumps
  • Familiarity with various pump types (including centrifugal, vertical turbine, positive displacement, submersible, air diaphragm, etc.)
  • Experience with an array of rotating equipment such as gearboxes, blowers, valves, mixers, and similar equipment
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and repair documentation
  • Experience leading or supervising repair technicians and/or machinists
  • Strong understanding of how a repair shop actually runs - scheduling, workflow, parts, execution, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple jobs and priorities without losing control of quality or timelines
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and decision-making
  • Understands how service work impacts pricing, margins, and overall shop performance
  • Comfortable working alongside internal teams on quoting, parts, purchasing, transport/logistics, RO management, etc.
  • Strong awareness of customer expectations in a B2B/commercial environment
  • Able to communicate clearly and professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams

Nice To Haves

  • Manual machining experience (lathe, mill, VTL, etc.) is a plus, especially if in a repair environment.
  • Basic understanding of electric motors is a plus, especially 480 3-phase
  • Background in an OEM-authorized repair center, distributor, manufacturer rep, and/or MRO environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Run the day-to-day shop operation, including pump rebuilds, rotating equipment repair, and machining work
  • Lead the team and hold the standard in the shop - quality, pace, and accountability
  • Set priorities and manage repair schedules, shop workload, and throughput
  • Review tear-downs, repair plans, and completed work to ensure jobs are done correctly
  • Step in on tougher jobs when needed to support troubleshooting and rebuild work
  • Work closely with internal teams (RC, RE, SSS, and Sales Engineer) to ensure repair scopes, parts, and timelines are aligned
  • When necessary, communicate directly with customers on job status, timelines, issues, etc.
  • Partner with internal teams to coordinate parts, outside services, and vendors as needed to keep jobs moving
  • Keep the shop organized, efficient, and running on schedule
  • Maintain a strong safety culture and clean working environment
