About The Position
The Service Writer plays a crucial role by effectively scheduling technician workloads and accurately documenting and translating customer concerns into technician-friendly terms. The Service Writer manages service write-ups, warranty processing, and tool checkouts. With a strong emphasis on outstanding customer service and maintaining a professional company image, the Service Writer must possess relevant knowledge of the industry to ensure efficiency and satisfaction in every service interaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external customers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Must be able to independently lift, carry, push, and pull up to thirty (30) pounds
- Must be able to swim or be willing to wear a personal flotation device in instances of emergency
- Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally
- Must be able to work flexible hours based on the needs of the property to include weekends and holidays as needed.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose issues and provide services by listening to customer's description of problems; clarifying their concerns and conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking boat maintenance records; examining service schedules.
- Verify warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers, explaining provisions and exclusions.
- Develop estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor, calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
- Other duties as assigned by management
