Summary: Responsible for packing, shipping, and receiving all materials to and from the facility.

Requirements

  • Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by the U.S. Government and able to work without restrictions with ITAR related data
  • High School Degree or G.E.D
  • 1+ years of experience in shipping and receiving or a manufacturing/warehouse environment

  • Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word)

Responsibilities

  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure they meet necessary specifications
  • Use a computer to identify customers shipping and packaging requirements
  • Utilize work instructions to determine the method of shipment, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates
  • Compare identifying information, count, weigh, or measure items of incoming and/or outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on packages
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues any identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Route items to the appropriate departments
  • Exam outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintain the inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area
  • Perform other related duties or responsibilities as required.
