About The Position

The Shipping Manager will oversee the daily operations of the warehouse,
ensuring the efficient and safe handling, shipping, and receiving of materials.
This role will lead a team of warehouse staff, including forklift operators, to
ensure timely and accurate delivery of products to customers. The Shipping
Manager is responsible for ensuring smooth operations in alignment with company
policies and safety regulations.

• Ability to read and interpret financial statements, general business periodicals, professional journals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees of the company.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, volume.
• Basic math abilities.
• Ability to solve practical problems, deal with a variety of situations, and collaborate with a successful result.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer literate

Responsibilities

• Manage and Operate a SAFE, clean, and courteous Fleet
• Manage and maintain company assets including Tractors, Trailers, and supporting equipment to ensure maximum utilization and cost efficiency
• Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules for all owned, leased, or rented equipment.
• Ensure all reporting requirements are accurate and on time
• Mentoring and Coaching all reports to be 100% responsible and actively engaged. Includes warehouse employees and drivers
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse while practicing FIFO
• Understanding monthly budget and manage costs
• Reviewing all invoices turned in for payment for accurate billing
• Responsible for accurate month end inventory of all finished goods
• Continuous Improvement in all aspects of shipping/receiving to create a safe accident free department
• Manage all housekeeping and sustainability efforts within the department
• Planning all loads to be most efficient and time sensitive
• Maximize tractor and trailer utilization
• Manage costs for outsourcing deliveries
• Ensure on-time delivery to all customers
• Clear and concise communication with customer service and production on any potential late orders proactively
• Follow up with drivers throughout the day to keep lines of communication open
• Follow all safety policies and hold reports accountable
• Maintain a clean and clutter free warehouse
• Establish housekeeping and recycling standards
• Continuous improvement with Aged Inventory and FIFO practices
