About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: To safely, efficiently and effectively cube out vans through floor loading patio doors, windows and other accessories, as well as operate a PIT equipment in sorting, shipping, and material handling processes. Access and understand information of off systems/reports to determine appropriate action required (MES, BAAN, Business objects, shortage reports, etc.).

Requirements

  • High diploma, GED or related education and work experience.
  • Basic or intermediate computer skills.
  • Knowledge of product, process and customer expectations within the value streams (upstream and downstream).
  • Highly specialized knowledge of product and delivery requirements.
  • Ability to read invoices, packing slips, emails and reports to determine correct location for delivery.
  • Must be able to safely operate multiple types of PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Have general knowledge of lockout/tagout.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to safely push and/or pull up to 121 pounds of force
  • Climb stairs/steps at will
  • Obtain a variety of positions such as stooping, reaching, twisting, etc.
  • Ability to grasp and pinch frequently throughout the day
  • Work around and near moving equipment and machinery

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to standard work, JBA¿s, control plans, work instructions and quality specifications.
  • Works with support staff on keeping standard work documents current and relevant to defined output.
  • Complies to safety parameters defined to protect equipment, facility, and co-workers in addition to support and participate in Continuous Improvement and capture daily Safety Interaction.
  • Identify problems and implement fixes for common issues with the use of AMS tools and standards for continuous improvement concepts, and works with the support staff, management and maintenance on corrective action to resolution.
  • Rotate as required through multiple duties (servicing lines, sorting, loading/ unloading, cross-docking, transporting material in the shipping process, van closing).
  • Engage in cross training to maintain flexibility and adaptability to support resource planning.
  • Follow specific loading/ unloading processes; load units and material without damage.
  • Provide training as needed to other operators and work cross-functionally (Supply Chain, Engineering, Maintenance, Fabrication, and Assembly).
  • Operate a powered industrial truck (PIT) based on operations/department need.
  • Cube out vans as efficiently as possible and ensure the load meets all load quality expectations.
  • Floor load patio units, windows, bays/bows and other x-dock items maintaining system scan integrity.
  • Building shipping crates to industry standards as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor
