About The Position

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is a hands-on operational role responsible for managing inbound and outbound shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring materials move efficiently throughout the facility. This position plays a critical role in supporting Kraken Kinetics’ manufacturing and program execution by ensuring production materials, vendor deliveries, and customer shipments are properly received, documented, organized, and transferred to the appropriate internal teams. The role works closely with production staff, program managers, and supply chain personnel to maintain smooth material flow from receiving through fabrication and final shipment. This position reports to the Production Program Manager and helps ensure that materials and components required for fabrication, testing, and program delivery are handled efficiently and documented accurately. This is a hands-on operational role, and candidates should be comfortable working in a warehouse or production environment and performing physical shipping, receiving, and material handling tasks on a daily basis. We are looking for someone who takes pride in running organized, efficient operations and maintaining accurate material flow in support of critical manufacturing work.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse tracking software (Fishbowl experience preferred).
  • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and standard office software.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and tracking of materials and shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to coordinate with production staff and program managers.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the facility for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or technical production environments.
  • Experience coordinating freight shipments or working with commercial carriers.
  • Familiarity with inventory control procedures and warehouse organization.
  • Experience supporting production teams in a fabrication or manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare outbound shipments including packaging, labeling, documentation, and carrier coordination.
  • Ensure products and materials are packaged appropriately to prevent damage during transport.
  • Generate and maintain shipment documentation including packing slips, shipment logs, and tracking records.
  • Coordinate shipment pickups with commercial carriers and freight services (e.g., UPS, FedEx, freight providers).
  • Verify shipment contents against internal documentation prior to release.
  • Receive incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
  • Inspect incoming packages for damage, discrepancies, or missing items upon arrival.
  • Verify delivered materials against purchase orders, packing lists, or internal documentation.
  • Record receipt of materials and notify appropriate personnel of deliveries.
  • Route received materials to appropriate staging areas, production teams, or storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using Fishbowl inventory management software.
  • Label, store, and organize incoming materials to ensure clear identification and traceability.
  • Maintain shipment logs and tracking information for internal reference.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and periodic inventory checks.
  • Record inbound and outbound material movement to support inventory tracking.
  • Move incoming materials to designated staging areas for production or inspection.
  • Assist with movement of finished goods from production areas to shipping preparation areas.
  • Support staging of materials required for fabrication builds and production activities.
  • Ensure proper labeling and identification of materials within staging areas.
  • Maintain shipping and receiving work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Assist production staff with packaging and staging requirements when needed.
  • Identify and report shipment discrepancies or damaged goods.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and proper material handling practices.
  • Support smooth internal material flow between receiving, storage, production, and shipping areas.
