About The Position

The Site Superintendent [I/II/III] is responsible for leading field construction operations for SC Swiderski’s single and multi-family residential construction projects. Working in tight partnership with our Construction Project Managers, this position ensures construction excellence through effective supervision of field teams, coordination of subcontractors, adherence to safety and quality standards, and on-time, on-budget project delivery. As employees progress through levels I, II & III, they assume increasing independence, technical competency, and leadership responsibility in managing construction sites, mentoring team members, and representing SC Swiderski’s standards of quality and integrity.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of in a multi-family building construction role, 4+ years in a Site-Superintendent role
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or equivalent education and experience
  • The ability to fulfill All Level I requirements and perform job duties independently and proficiently
  • In-depth understanding of construction quality control practices, site inspections, and proper documentation
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes, including the ability to interpret and ensure code compliance for single-family homes and multi-residential projects
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
  • Experience with construction scheduling software (ex. Sage Construction Management), ERP Software (ex. Sage Intact) and Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Outlook & MS Teams
  • Knowledge of safe operating practices for construction equipment and ability to identify maintenance issues
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including design execution, resource allocation, and contingency planning
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to adjust priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic construction environment
  • Certifications in, or willingness to be certified in Telehandler and/or Aerial/Boom Lift Operation
  • CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to be certified soon after hire
  • Must have a valid Class D driver’s license to work on our job/property sites
  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods, (up to 10 hours/day)
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting, crouching, and crawling
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights
  • Comfortable working on multi-story buildings and active construction sites
  • Tolerance for outdoor work in all seasons and weather conditions
  • Regular travel is required, (in-state and occasionally out-of-state as business expands)
  • May require overnight stays near job sites depending on project location
  • Must be able to manage multiple job sites and travel between them daily as needed
  • Must be willing to work occasional evenings or weekends based on project deadlines or emergencies

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate the efforts of trades, subcontractors, and site staff
  • Enforce adherence to plans, specifications, codes, and project schedules
  • Monitor material usage, labor productivity, and equipment needs to maintain budgets
  • Conduct daily safety and quality inspections; ensure toolbox talks are completed
  • Mentor and guide Level I staff and field laborers; provide feedback and basic training
  • Troubleshoot site challenges to maintain project efficiency and timelines
  • Maintain accurate daily and weekly job-site documentation
  • Provide progress reports to Project Managers and internal stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain a look-ahead schedule in coordination with Project Manager
  • Lead daily huddles and weekly subcontractor coordination meetings
  • Manage materials inventory and staging plans to prevent delays or hazards
  • Verify subcontractor invoices or timecards for accuracy before approval
  • Implement and monitor erosion control measures and storm-water compliance reporting
  • Conduct and document Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) for high-risk activities
  • Oversee warranty punch-list and turnover documentation
  • Collaborate with municipal inspectors and DNR officials during inspections
  • Contribute to lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement sessions with Construction Management.
