About The Position

This position is responsible for: Supervises and participates in the work performed by employees, volunteers, and community service workers in the Sorting Room area of a Thrift Store. Ensures that all donated items are processed through in a timely manner and in accordance with established standards. Assumes responsibilities of Store Clerk as needed.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred, AND Three years experience performing warehouse work with at least one year experience in a supervisory capacity, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
Physical ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs).

Nice To Haves

Fork Lift License.

Responsibilities

Monitors the arrival and distribution of all donations ensuring that items reach the appropriate destination in a timely manner.
Participates in the inspection of donated items in order to help determine the appropriate price, inspects appliances to ensure they are in proper working order; discards items in accordance with established procedures.
Responds to employees questions and assists in resolving operational and personnel problems; conducts performance evaluations and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
