About The Position
As the Sous Chef Pool Bar & Café, you will bring leadership, creativity, and attention to detail to one of the most vibrant and guest-facing culinary venues on property. From guiding and developing your culinary team to ensuring every dish is prepared with consistency, quality, and speed, you will play an essential role in delivering a relaxed yet elevated poolside dining experience. By working closely with your team, maintaining high culinary standards, and supporting daily operations in a fast-paced environment, you will help create memorable moments for guests enjoying the resort atmosphere.
Requirements
- Holds a High School Diploma or GED
- Exhibits 2+ years of supervisory experience
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume operation while leading by example
- Excels in coaching, motivating, and fostering a positive team culture
- Flexible to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities
- Train and mentor Lead Cooks, Cooks, Pantry Workers, and Helpers on daily responsibilities
- Ensure food quality is superior, taking corrective action when needed
- Oversee requisitions, receiving, and inventory while maintaining accurate labeling and dating of products
- Maintain knowledge and preparation of base sauces, stocks, and soups
- Communicate with management and service staff to address guest and employee needs
- Assist the Executive Room Chef with purchasing, scheduling, and setting kitchen goals focused on profit, product, and people
- Support compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
