About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education (SPED) Teacher – Autism to support students in an elementary school setting. This role focuses on providing specialized instruction and individualized support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) within a structured and inclusive learning environment. This is a weekday-only position aligned with the academic school calendar.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field (required)
- Active Virginia Special Education teaching license (or eligibility)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs
- Strong classroom management and behavioral support skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Nice To Haves
- Autism endorsement or demonstrated experience working with students with ASD (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies tailored to students with ASD
- Adapt curriculum and classroom activities to meet diverse learning needs
- Support students’ academic, behavioral, communication, and social skill development
- Implement and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, paraprofessionals, and families
- Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation and compliance records
- Foster a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal special education regulations
