About The Position

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost. We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to join us at our Cameron, LA project location as a Specialist, Sourcing and Contracts. This individual will purchase goods and services specifically for the onsite construction project. This position is located at the Project site and will partner with the internal site construction Project Management, Engineering, Commissioning and Completions teams to ensure Project equipment, materials, consumables and minor subcontracting needs are fulfilled to support the Project schedule and budget. This individual will have the following duties and responsibilities:

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or another related field
  • 3 years or more in a similar procurement, sourcing or supply chain role involving services or construction projects with complex civil, structural and mechanical scopes
  • Excellent knowledge of sourcing, contracting and procurement processes
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as vendors
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present key details and conclusions
  • Interest in and comfort with being a part of a team environment with rapidly changing assignments and priorities
  • Demonstrated initiative and ownership of work with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately prepare periodic procurement reports
  • Willingness to work on an active construction site
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers is required
  • May be required to carry a cell phone and respond as needed during working and non-working hours
  • Perform other duties assigned

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient with MS OfficeSuite, SAP and Coupa procurement and contract management systems is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate needs, negotiate with local vendors, and ensure timely delivery of materials while adhering to project specifications and budget constraints
  • Frequently interact with Project Management to identify and fulfill immediate requirements
  • Participate in daily site planning meetings to collect procurement requests and regularly assess material needs based on project progress and construction schedules
  • Develop and distribute requests for quotes, collect proposals, prepare and issue Purchase Orders, in line with the corporate Procurement Policy and Procedures
  • Use knowledge of sources and suppliers across the industry to find approved alternative sources to fulfill Project material aligned with project requirements, including quality, delivery timeframes, and pricing
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to the project site
  • Provide regular updates on procurement activities, including requests out for quote, purchase orders issued, and other suppliers contacts made
  • Support the execution of Supplier Performance Management program execution
  • Maintain material purchase requests, supplier proposals, purchasing records, supplier feedback documentation as required per policy
  • Issue and complete Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with potential bidders/vendors, as required
  • Understand and be able to negotiate service/construction terms and conditions, define and document scopes of work, and evaluate pricing in agreements to protect the company from risks and liabilities.
  • Draft, review, approve and negotiate a variety of contracts, contract amendments and contract extensions with the support of Contract Administration and Legal.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
