Sr Data Engineer
About The Position
Design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integrations that ingest, transform, and model data from enterprise systems Develop robust SQL‑based data models, including dimensional and star schema designs, to support analytics and reporting Implement and maintain semantic models that clearly define business logic and metrics Work independently to own end‑to-end technical delivery, from requirements through implementation and validation Partner with Finance, Analytics, and Engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Contribute to improving data quality, reliability, and maintainability across the platform Participate in design reviews and collaborate on architectural decisions, while remaining primarily hands‑on
Requirements
- Strong hands‑on experience designing and building data pipelines and data integrations
- Deep expertise in SQL‑based data modeling and transformations
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT patterns, semantic modeling, and star schema design
- Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (data warehouse, lakehouse, or similar)
- Proven ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver high‑quality solutions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical designs to non‑technical stakeholders
- Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor, not a people manager
- Expert level understanding of Data Mesh concepts (Data products, Data governance, etc)
- Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years of relevant experience; Or 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with Domain specific data products ( Finance data or Finance‑related systems, HR Data, etc)
- Familiarity with configuring, maintaining, and administering modern data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake), though specific platform experience is not required
- Experience operating in environments with evolving data sources and reporting requirements
