Overview We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to lead troubleshooting efforts for complex RF electronic systems during production validation. This role requires deep technical expertise to diagnose and resolve failures in sophisticated multi-band communication and sensor systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- 7+ years of hardware engineering experience with emphasis on production test and failure analysis
- Strong background in RF circuit design and troubleshooting
- Experience with high-power RF systems and amplifier design
- Proficiency with RF test equipment (network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators)
- Demonstrated ability to perform board-level and component-level diagnosis
- Experience with sensor systems and signal processing hardware
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI/ML-enabled sensor systems
- Knowledge of Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures
- Familiarity with thermal analysis and power integrity
- Experience with portable/battery-powered defense systems
- Background in electromagnetic warfare or electronic countermeasure systems
- Proficiency with lab tools including thermal imaging, logic analyzers, and protocol analyzers
- Experience with reliability testing and HALT/HASS methodologies
Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis for units failing production test procedures
- Diagnose complex failures in multi-band RF systems (up to 6 RF bands)
- Troubleshoot high-power RF transmission circuits and power amplifier stages
- Analyze failures in sensor integration subsystems including passive detection arrays
- Interface with design engineering to identify and resolve systemic issues
- Develop and implement production test improvements and yield enhancement strategies
- Create detailed failure analysis reports and recommend design or process modifications
- Support validation of engineering change orders (ECOs) on the production line
- Mentor production test technicians and junior engineers
- Coordinate with supply chain on component-level quality issues
