Position Summary Senior Financial Analyst - Reasearch and Grants Versiti is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst who thrives at the intersection of data, strategy, and collaboration. In this role, you’ll serve as a key partner to our Research and Grants service line—helping leaders make informed decisions that support our mission and long‑term growth. If you enjoy digging into financial data, building models, and translating numbers into meaningful insights, this is a place where your work will directly influence innovation and impact. Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting, financial operations, or similar field required.
  • Experience in the financial management of federal research grants and awards.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and decisively across levels of the organization
  • Excellent reasoning and analytical skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical financial information to management
  • Effective presentation and training skills
  • Working knowledge of spreadsheets, word processing, database and other applications, including networked personal computers and integrated information systems
  • Understand the purpose of a mission-driven organization and how financials support the organization's achievement of its mission.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline from an accredited college or university required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with an integrated accounting and finance system preferred.
  • Experience writing financial statements and management reports preferred.
  • Experience in providing financial analysis in support of operational activities preferred.
  • MBA preferred
  • Master’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a trusted advisor and strategic partner with Leadership teams of the Research and Grants service line to provide financial support for current operations, translating financial results, and aid in decision support for future operational proposals and growth initiatives.
  • Administers grants and grant reporting for research grants, contracts, and subcontracts. Ensures spending is in accordance with grantor requirements on a timely basis.
  • Works as a partner with research investigators, research administration, and the executive leadership team to develop budgets, forecast projections, and analyze spending.
  • Prepares required financial reports to grantors and assists in resolving issues and rate negotiations with appropriate federal agencies (primarily the NIH), including the timely completion of the indirect cost proposal.
  • Prepare and process the month end closing process for awards and grants.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly effort reporting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly invoicing for grant and award activity.
  • Prepare grant supplier invoices for processing to accounts payable.
  • Coordinates preparation and completion of audit schedules, confirmations, audit, footnote disclosures, and general timing of activities for the single audit report
  • Ensures appropriate controls are in place related to grants.
  • Participates in the review and update of policies and procedures related to grant administration.
  • Promotes and maintains compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and related accounting and reporting standards and guidance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
