About The Position

The Walmart & Sam’s Sales team is responsible for leading growth across of our fastest growing and most innovative customers accounting for over $3B in Sales. This role (Senior Financial Analyst, Walmart & Sam’s Zone) provides a unique opportunity to partner within Finance and cross-functionally with the Sales team while developing commercial acumen and influencing the execution of brand strategies. The Senior Financial Analyst, under the direction of the Finance Manager, Walmart & Sam’s, will partner with Sales to manage, forecast and optimize financial results (Reported Net Sales (RNS), Trade, Customer Profitability) to deliver growth objectives across these two critical customers. As a member of the Zone Finance team, you’ll model business plans and strategies, forecast outcomes, measure progress and recommend actions leveraging data driven insights. This role offers significant exposure to Sales planning and execution, customer negotiation tactics, competitive/category assessments, pricing analytics, SRM and scenario planning. Lastly, you will own execution and optimization of significant functional & customer processes. This role offers the opportunity to build financial fluency across the Sales function to enable results.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field with 3+ years of work experience
  • Partnership for Impact to be curious and challenge the status quo with candor to maximize investment ROI and improve processes
  • Situational agility to influence without formal authority by cultivating transparent, trusting relationships with customer teams
  • Commercial Finance Acumen and analytical agility to assess and provide perspective on trade spend management as well as adapt Plan in-year with incomplete data or conflicting information
  • Data Based Decision Making and ability to synthesize multiple data sources and navigate complexity
  • Ability to travel to region office / customer (<5%)
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office tools

Nice To Haves

  • Finance experience within Trade, Sales, or an Operating Unit
  • Working knowledge of GMI Finance Systems (AFO, SAC, Business Objects, Tableau)

Responsibilities

  • Support the Walmart & Sam’s Sales team, responsible for financial results, forecasting, and related processes:
  • Deliver Plan Results: Reported Net Sales (RNS) growth within operating unit (OU) aligned Spend Per Case (SPC) targets
  • Lead the creation of accurate financial projections, forecasts and scenarios; analyze results
  • Support best practice sharing & process optimization across Sales & Trade Finance
  • Partner across the Sales, Brand, and Finance teams to influence Trade Strategy and improve Trade Effectiveness
  • Reports directly to Finance Manager, Walmart & Sam’s
  • Key relationships include Zone Sales VP, Zone Sales Directors and teams, Zone Operations Manager as well as OU Finance Teams & Central North America Retail (NAR) Sales Finance.
