Summarized Purpose This role within Vaccines R&D requires specialized trade compliance and international logistics support to manage the end-to-end processing of international shipment requests in support of research and development activities. The purpose of this engagement is to ensure regulatory compliance, operational continuity, and continuous improvement of import/export processes supporting our clients Vaccines R&D.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in: Import/export operations Regulatory compliance
  • Experience with: Trade compliance, Logistics or supply chain operations
  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage U.S. import clearance activities, including coordination with customs brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements, including but not limited to: U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
  • Maintain controlled records for: Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTSUS) classifications Non-preferential country of origin determinations Customs valuation support documentation
  • Respond to broker inquiries and resolve entry exceptions.
  • Monitor and track import entries, post-entry corrections, and compliance reporting.
  • Conduct export compliance checks, including: Restricted party screening Export license determination Controlled substance verification
  • Perform dangerous goods (DG) assessments in accordance with applicable transport regulations.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation, including: Commercial invoices Packing lists Other regulatory or courier-required documentation
  • Ensure broker adherence to internal standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Support automation, digitization, and KPI improvement initiatives related to: Trade compliance Shipment processing workflows
  • Conduct post-clearance reviews and management monitoring activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis of shipment exceptions and compliance issues.
  • Propose and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Contribute to process optimization and operational risk mitigation.
