About The Position

SilverTech is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to own and evolve our internal IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for the reliability, security, and scalability of the systems that support our 150+ person hybrid organization. You’ll be the most senior technical contributor on the IT team—designing, maintaining, and improving infrastructure end to end, serving as an escalation point, and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys setting standards, owning systems, and proactively improving how technology supports the business.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in systems administration or infrastructure-focused IT roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
  • Solid understanding of networking, security fundamentals, and endpoint management.
  • Experience supporting cloud-first or hybrid environments.
  • Ability to work independently, own complex systems, and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Azure infrastructure experience.
  • PowerShell or automation scripting.
  • Experience supporting professional services or digital agencies.
  • Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day operations, performance, and security of servers, networks, endpoints, and cloud services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable, highly available infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Monitor system health, logs, alerts, backups, and proactively mitigate risks.
  • Plan and execute OS upgrades, patching, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Architect and manage Active Directory, Group Policy, identity, and access controls.
  • Administer and optimize Microsoft 365, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, security, and licensing.
  • Establish best practices for identity, access, and endpoint management.
  • Design and maintain network infrastructure across physical locations (firewalls, switches, wireless, VPNs).
  • Develop and enforce security policies and technical controls to protect systems and data.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure, network, and security issues.
  • Establish and document standards and best practices across infrastructure and endpoint management.
  • Maintain technical documentation and internal knowledge resources.
  • Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
  • Partner with leadership on infrastructure strategy, vendors, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Provision and manage hardware and software for new and existing employees.
  • Oversee asset inventory, lifecycle management, and vendor coordination.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
