About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Operations Engineer with deep handson experience supporting complex infrastructure and production systems within a regulated environment. In this role, you’ll lead troubleshooting efforts, oversee deployments and system changes, and ensure high availability and performance across core operational platforms. You’ll partner with Infrastructure and Engineering teams to resolve issues, improve system resilience, and support the technology that powers life insurance and annuity operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own the stability, uptime, and performance of servers, applications, and cloud environments supporting life insurance and annuity operations
  • Proactively identify risks and performance issues, ensuring systems remain reliable in a highly regulated, missioncritical environment
  • Lead investigation and resolution of outages, performance degradation, and failed deployments
  • Diagnose issues at the root by analyzing logs, configurations, infrastructure, and application behavior
  • Fix issues directly and make sound decisions to minimize business impact, including rolling back changes when needed
  • Lead and execute deployments, system updates, and production changes across environments
  • Write and maintain scripts to eliminate manual tasks and improve operational efficiency
  • Automate deployments, monitoring, scaling, and recovery to strengthen system resilience
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure Team to support networking, storage, compute resources, and cloud platforms
  • Partner with Development and DBA teams to ensure issues are identified early, logged accurately, and resolved effectively
  • Serve as a trusted technical partner in planning and executing system changes and implementations
  • Maintain and improve pipelines for code releases and operational changes
  • Ensure deployments are repeatable, welldocumented, and aligned with best practices for reliability and security
  • Mentor junior engineers by sharing knowledge, reviewing work, and modeling strong operational practices
  • Contribute to documentation, runbooks, and implementation guides that improve team effectiveness and consistency
  • Participate in oncall rotations and provide support during evenings, nights, or weekends as needed to ensure continuous system availability
