This position will relocate from our Oceanside, CA site to Foster City, CA site at a future date The successful candidate for this laboratory-based role will possess an understanding of analytical tools for therapeutic biologics process and product characterization. The candidate must be highly motivated to contribute to the research and development of biologics targeting unmet medical needs through biochemical characterization and novel method development supporting clinical and commercial programs. Experience in several of the following fields is strongly desired: analytical chemistry, biochemistry, electrophoretic separations, high performance or ultra-performance liquid chromatography, and bioinformatics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience
  • Or Master's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience executing and analyzing data for CE-based methods. Theoretical understanding of CE methods required. Practical experience or theoretical understanding of LC-based methods
  • Strong theoretical understanding of analytical research concepts and principles (e.g., method development/validation principles)
  • Review testing data for accuracy and compliance with established protocols and specifications. Recognize anomalous and inconsistent results to identify issues with experiments.
  • Knowledge of ICH guidelines and GMP/GxP practices is highly preferred
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify and implement solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform capillary electrophoresis (CE) and liquid chromatography (LC) analytical method development and testing to evaluate the impact of process parameters on product quality
  • Support method development, optimization, and validation for late stage biotherapeutics in compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal procedures
  • Work with senior team members and/or supervisors to design and execute assigned experiments, process data, and summarize results to support development activities
  • Author and revise analytical test methods, reports, and memoranda
  • Follow good documentation practices for data recording and knowledge management
  • Follow site EH&S policies and procedure
