About The Position

The Sr. SIOP Analyst is responsible for leading and optimizing the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) process for a manufacturing plant. This role ensures cross-functional alignment between sales, operations, procurement, engineering, and finance to balance demand, capacity, inventory, and financial objectives. The Sr. SIOP Analyst drives data-driven decision-making to improve customer service, inventory turns, capacity utilization, and overall plant performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in SIOP, demand planning, supply planning, or operations planning within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, MRP/ERP systems, and capacity planning
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without authority
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong Excel and data visualization capabilities

Nice To Haves

  • APICS CPIM, CSCP, or IBF certification
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
  • Experience in engineered-to-order, make-to-order, or mixed-mode manufacturing environments

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the monthly SIOP cycle, including demand review, supply review, inventory planning, and executive SIOP meetings
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to align demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity and supply constraints
  • Develop and maintain a rolling 12–24 month demand and supply plan
  • Partner with Sales and Product Management to develop accurate demand forecasts
  • Translate demand into feasible production, labor, and material plans
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities in supply plans and recommend mitigation strategies focusing on guiding production control to lock in schedules at the next 2 to 3 weeks.
  • Optimize inventory levels to meet service level targets while minimizing working capital
  • Monitor inventory health, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory
  • Partner with procurement and materials teams to improve supplier performance and material availability
  • Align production plans with labor, equipment, and capacity constraints
  • Support make/buy decisions, outsourcing strategies, and capacity expansion planning
  • Coordinate with engineering and operations on new product introductions and transitions
  • Ensure SIOP plans align with financial targets, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support scenario planning and what-if analysis for volume, mix, and capacity changes
  • Provide clear metrics and KPIs to leadership (forecast accuracy, inventory turns, OTIF, capacity utilization)
  • Improve SIOP maturity, processes, and tools
  • Drive standard work, governance, and accountability across functions
  • Support ERP/MRP planning parameter optimization and system enhancements
