About The Position

The Senior Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for establishing, enhancing and managing a specified territory (Southern California) or group of accounts to accomplish revenue and other goals and objectives set by the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or closely related technical degree. A Business degree may be substituted if there is sufficient technical work experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience OEM sales and/or engineering
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of industry experience and/or with specified products
  • Demonstrated achievement of sales goals
  • Computer skills required: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point and CRM
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong public speaking and influence skills

  • Ability to analyze sales leads and determine fit, function and lifetime value for NHBB
  • Frequent travel required (50% plus)

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain customer base within the industry
  • Ability to work with Marketing and Field Sales to accurately forecast future business

  • Ability to prioritize duties and maximize productivity
  • Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Able to travel as needed.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at organizations’ facilities; both internally as well as customers.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or have asylum or refugee status in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or Auto CAD is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Proactively develop, maintain and manage relationships with customer’s needs
  • Proactively work with customer portfolio to identify business opportunities.
  • Provide support and timely communication to inside sales teams (AR’s) at all factory locations in the company.
  • Assist in the account strategy, quoting, technical requirements, training, and sales negotiations.
  • Effectively use the CRM tool to maximize sales and opportunities.
  • Prepare business plans
  • Time Management; Plan and schedule customer visits on a regular basis
  • Timely communication of all issues to and from customers to the company.
  • Expense control
  • Prepare month-end reports for management by customer, product and factory location with summarized information as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as related to the job function as required
  • Support divisional goals and sales directives
  • Identify customer needs, provide recommendations, implement solutions
  • Departmental assistance and other projects as assigned
