About The Position

The Manufacturing Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations for a manufacturing facility, overseeing general ledger, month-end close, accounts payable and receivable, standard costing support, and financial analysis. This role involves leveraging Plex ERP to ensure accurate financial reporting, cost control, and data-driven insights for management. The ideal candidate will have hands-on manufacturing accounting experience and a strong understanding of US GAAP and standard costing principles.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles, including standard costing.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with Plex strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience with general ledger, month-end close, and account reconciliation.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience specifically using Plex Production Software.
  • Exposure to capital expenditure analysis or budgeting.
  • Experience supporting KPI/operational performance reporting in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions including income, expenses, sales, purchases, and payments using Plex ERP.
  • Maintain the General Ledger, including balance sheet reconciliations and discrepancy resolution.
  • Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and assist with monthly financial statements and reporting.
  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, and propose weekly payment schedules.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Generate and distribute customer invoices, apply customer payments, and monitor AR aging while following up on overdue accounts.
  • Support capital expenditure analysis, including financial justification and ROI evaluation.
  • Assist with budget tracking, variance analysis, and make recommendations.
  • Monitor and approve expenses; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Track and report Key Performance Metrics related to production efficiency, quality, and financial performance.
  • Utilize Plex production software for reporting, data analysis, and process optimization.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and provide decision support to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and leadership teams.
