You are part of the team because we know you have what it takes The Staff Accountant will support the Accounting Manager and Controller in managing financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes. This role is integral in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with compliance and audits.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and hospitality industry accounting practices.
  • Ability to assess financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations.
  • High accuracy in financial calculations, reporting, and reconciliation processes.
  • Understanding of corporate tax laws, sales tax regulations, and payroll-related tax filings.
  • Experience with accounting platforms and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and external auditors effectively.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to address financial discrepancies and reporting challenges.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting procedures and enhance efficiency.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with discretion and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplify the Tommy’s Tavern and Tap/Tio’s Experience: Dedicate oneself to delivering GREAT guest service, consistently going above and beyond for both team members and guests.
  • Assist in preparing accurate financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Process invoices, vendor payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
  • Reconcile bank statements, review transactions, and ensure financial accuracy across all restaurant locations.
  • Support payroll processing and reconciliation in compliance with regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including sales tax reporting and corporate filings.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of financial controls, conduct internal audits, and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets, analyzing financial performance, and providing recommendations for cost optimization.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Utilize accounting software and ensure system efficiency.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation
