Staff Assistant (part-time, 28 hours/week) The Staff Assistant plays a key role in supporting the mission of the Teacher Education Department! In this dynamic position, you’ll provide essential administrative and secretarial support for the Teacher Education graduate program coordinator and the department’s administrative offices. You’ll collaborate closely with the department office manager and offer meaningful assistance to faculty and graduate students. This role is perfect for someone who wants to contribute to an academic environment that supports both faculty and students.

Requirements

  • Associates degree, or 2 years related working experience

Responsibilities

  • Support graduate student recruitment, admissions, onboarding, and advising, including responding to questions and communicating program requirements.
  • Coordinate and track graduate student progress, including progress reports, scholarships, final thesis, and graduation requirements.
  • Assist graduate students and faculty with prospectus and thesis scheduling, formatting, review, and final submission processes.
  • Collaborate closely with the department graduate program coordinator and Graduate Studies, including scheduling, preparing for, and attending graduate faculty meetings and trainings as required.
  • Manage graduate program communications and resources, including catalog and application updates, graduate program website maintenance, and regular email communications with graduate students and faculty.
  • Provide front‑desk support by greeting and assisting guests, responding to basic office needs, and coordinating conference room scheduling.
  • Assist with office operations, including ordering supplies, maintaining printers and copiers, and overseeing department key inventory.
  • Support logistics for department events as needed.
