Dewberry has an immediate opening in our New York, NY office for a Staff Engineer - Mechanical Engineer with 2-4 years of design experience in the design of HVAC, Plumbing and Fire protection systems, for commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. and Infrastructure support. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering (BSME) degree ( passed EIT).
  • Applicants should have a minimum of 2+years direct experience in related HVAC design.
  • Proactive personality with solutions-based approach to problem solving.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills (English language) and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Word and Excel (Microsoft Office) required.
  • Valid Driver’s License is required.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license is not required but is plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Lead and Senior Mechanical Engineers to develop schematic and construction drawings, assist with code analysis and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
  • Serve as the Mechanical Project Engineer for small projects and coordinate work with all disciplines with the goal of increasing responsibility and decision making.
  • Attend meetings and prepare minutes of meeting.
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections of mechanical plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Perform or assigns task to and coordinate with technicians or administrative staff as per project requirements .
