About The Position

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our Fort Mill, SC office (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week. This role is not open to visa sponsorship or transfer of visa sponsorship including those on H1-B, F-1, OPT, STEM-OPT, or TN visa, nor is it available to work corp-to-corp. Red Ventures Home is working to build best-in-class technology focused on connecting our highly valuable mover audience with our portfolio of home services. The Home team is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to join our growing Engineering Team. The Staff Engineer role requires breadth and depth of expertise (a "comb-shaped" skills profile) across a broad range of technologies, including: Agentic software development frameworks (BMAD, Spec-Kit, etc) Typescript Next.js OpenNext and SST Data driven design Session and state management Eventing architectures Databases and data warehousing (Databricks) Applications initialized by configuration Authentication and authorization Monitoring and observability Build/deploy tooling and processes Developer tooling including AI enabled development IDEs Infrastructure as code Information security (architecting for security, vulnerability management, security incident response) Compliance We strive to help our teams grow their expertise in these areas, both individually and in group settings. Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in hands-on development
  • 7+ years of experience with Typescript, Next.js, Node.js
  • 7+ years of experience architecting, implementing, and enhancing performant web applications available to global users
  • Mastery of: Typescript Next.js OpenNext and SST GraphQL Telephony - Genesys / Twilio or other SaaS telephony platform Monitoring and observability - New Relic or other platform Event driven architecture AWS (Lambda, ECS, Dynamo) Databricks or other data warehouses and pipelines AI first mindset to push the boundaries of software development, developer thought partnership, and next level automation
  • Experience with AI development frameworks (BMAD, Spec-Kit, etc)
  • Someone who develops not just for now but for the future
  • Knowledge of Scrum and Agile Software Development Methodology
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture, system design, and scalability principles.
  • Experience leading technical strategy and mentoring both senior engineers and managers.
  • Skilled in balancing business objectives with technical execution.
  • Effective communicator who drives clarity, alignment, and constructive collaboration across teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a “get it done” attitude and commitment to quality.
  • Passion for solving complex technical challenges at scale.
  • Excited about innovation, especially AI-driven development and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

  • A primary responsibility for this role will be architecting a highly available and scalable sales platform and its configurator
  • Defining and exemplifying best practices on the following topics Typescript Next.js OpenNext and SST Node.js GraphQL Software architecture, resilience, and scalability Monitoring and observability Software development lifecycle Coding standards Quality assurance
  • Being a change agent for how we develop software using agentic frameworks
  • Active pair-programming with teammates when they need help
  • Participate in formal and informal code and architecture reviews
