This role leads and supports a wide range of corporate events, collaborating closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver seamless, meaningful, and innovative event experiences. The Staff Event Specialist owns all phases of event development—from concept, scope definition, and budgeting through vendor governance, on-site leadership, and post-event performance analysis. Success in this role requires strong project management skills, exceptional communication, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a solutions-oriented mindset in fast-paced, time-sensitive environments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of corporate event planning experience, including ownership of complex, high-visibility events and/or multi-event programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a range of event types (e.g., hospitality, corporate functions, tradeshows).
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong track record of influencing and partnering with stakeholders, setting clear expectations, and delivering results that meet or exceed business objectives.
  • General technical awareness, including familiarity with Qualcomm products, electronics, and audiovisual equipment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution for various size events, aligning strategy, attendee experience, and deliverables to business objectives, brand standards, and budget targets.
  • Support senior team members in the execution of largescale or complex events, contributing to both pre-planning activities and on-site operations.
  • Direct full event scope and integrated production plans (e.g., housing, entertainment, food & beverage, audiovisual, content, promotions, signage, transportation, etc.).
  • Manage event logistics, project timelines, and internal process adherence while ensuring effective cross-functional communication across marketing and other Qualcomm departments.
  • Research, source, negotiate, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Travel as needed—including weekends and holidays—to oversee or support on-site event execution, proactively adapting to changing conditions and stepping into operational roles when required.
  • Own event financial management, including budget development, invoicing, and variance reporting.
