About The Position

The Staging Coordinator is responsible for managing the organization and flow of materials and components within the staging department to ensure seamless support for production operations. This role plays a key part in coordinating inventory, monitoring material availability, and ensuring materials are staged accurately and on time for upholstered furniture manufacturing, including sofas, chairs, sectionals, and ottomans. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in material handling, staging, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and material handling processes.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory software).
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with frequent physical activity.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or coursework in logistics, operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in coordinating teams or workflows is highly preferred.
  • Ability to be forklift certified would be preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the daily staging activities to ensure materials (e.g., fabric, frames, foam) are accurately organized and delivered to the production team as scheduled.
  • Monitor inventory levels and material flow, identifying and resolving discrepancies or shortages to minimize production downtime.
  • Collaborate with production, cutting, and sewing teams to align staging priorities with production goals.
  • Track and document material movements, staging schedules, and inventory updates using software or manual logs.
  • Inspect staged materials to verify they meet quality standards and align with production requirements.
  • Maintain a positive and organized work environment while achieving team and department objectives.
  • Train and mentor material handlers on proper staging and safety protocols to enhance department efficiency.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline staging and material handling processes.
