About The Position

The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) provides high-quality, compassionate care to patients and residents under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN). The STNA assists with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitors patient condition, and supports the nursing team in maintaining a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all residents.

Requirements

  • Current State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification in good standing with the [State] Nurse Aide Registry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to lift, move, and transport residents safely and perform physically demanding tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
  • Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital settings preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Measure and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure) accurately and promptly.
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ condition or behavior to the nurse on duty.
  • Assist in repositioning, ambulating, and transferring residents using proper body mechanics and lifting equipment.
  • Ensure residents’ rooms and common areas are clean, organized, and safe.
  • Maintain residents’ dignity and privacy while delivering care according to facility standards and regulations.
