About The Position

A healthcare facility in Simpsonville, SC is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to support the Central Sterile department. The technician will be responsible for cleaning, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing surgical instruments and medical equipment while ensuring strict adherence to infection control and sterilization standards. This role requires strong experience in sterile processing and the ability to work efficiently during night shifts in a fast-paced surgical services environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Certification required
• Strong understanding of sterile processing procedures and infection control standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Inspect, assemble, and package instrument trays according to established protocols
• Operate sterilization equipment and ensure proper sterilization procedures
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and equipment usage
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and regulatory standards
• Prepare and distribute sterile supplies to surgical and procedural departments
• Maintain organization and inventory of sterile processing supplies
• Collaborate with surgical services staff to ensure timely instrument availability
